Running at 480 Mbps the USB 2.0 connection is slightly faster than the FireWire connection, but both have different uses. The USB2-PCICOMBO1 houses 2x external and 1x internal USB 2.0 ports and 1 x internal 2x 6pin external FireWire (IEEE-1394) ports.
